The Creative Writing minor is designed to provide students with knowledge of the techniques of the writing process across multiple disciplines, including (but not limited to) poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. Students will have an opportunity to develop their own writing, as well as learn about revision and editing, methods of critical analysis, and the publishing process. All students in the minor will have the opportunity to write and revise a portfolio of their own original work. Courses applied to the English major, English minor, Film and Media Studies minor, Linguistics minor, or the Technical & Professional Writing minor cannot be applied to the Creative Writing minor.
Creative Writing Minor: 21 credits
Required Courses: 15 credits
Advisor-Approved Electives: 6 credits

Minor Requirement
A minor is a secondary area of study outside of the major program of study with a structured curriculum composed of at least 18 credits of which at least 9 credits must be at the 3000-level or above.
