With the fast-paced and ever-changing healthcare environment, the minor in Health Administration equips students with the knowledge and skills to function effectively in administrative roles in today’s healthcare industry. Students develop the skills necessary to pursue health-related management opportunities in for-profit, nonprofit, and governmental sectors, including with hospital systems, medical group practices, clinics, nursing homes, long-term care facilities, public health agencies, and other health-related organizations. The curriculum covers the foundational concepts of health administration along with an understanding of the key roles of healthcare administrators. Students gain strong leadership abilities, communication and management skills, competence in managing change and working in teams, and proficiency in healthcare strategy and operations.
