Natural resources ecology is a broad, modern field of science that combines the study of interactions among living organisms and their environment with management practices.  The natural world provides critical resources and benefits to human society with a global estimated value of ecosystem services in the tens of trillions of dollars annually. This minor provides a curriculum focused on the foundational knowledge and practices used in the science and management of natural resources. The course of study is designed to enhance the prospects for employment or graduate school for students in non-biology science majors (e.g., geosciences or chemistry) and non-science majors (e.g., Criminal Justice and Criminology or Sports and Leisure Management).
