General Program Information


Note: All students in the SALM major are required to make a grade of C or better in all major classes. Courses may be retaken for grade adjustment in accordance with university policy.

Park and Recreation Management Concentration


The park and recreation management concentration provides instruction and training in the planning, organization, and leadership and management of park and recreation agencies and programs. Flexibility allows students to tailor their educational experience to meet their career goals. Students are also given the opportunity to employ theories learned in the classroom in practical settings through the internship program. Students can work in a variety of fields such as community recreation, state/national parks, military recreation, or the outdoor recreation industry.

TBR General Education Requirements: 41 Credit Hours


Recreation and Guided Electives: 22 credit hours


Choose 15- 21 credit hours in Recreation Electives and 1-7 in Guided Electives to equal 22 hours total.

Free Electives: 3 Credit Hours


Total Hours Required for Degree: 120 Credit Hours
