Articulation Structure
The DNP/MBA program is an innovative program that allows students to complete an MBA as a part of their years of study in the College of Nursing. The program employs an online modality to provide MBA courses to nursing students in the Healthcare and Leadership Concentration, thereby allowing them to receive both DNP and MBA degrees. By employing the online program format, students have flexibility to complete the degree over two or three years. A student may complete the requirements of the MBA under this articulation even after nursing school graduation, provided that the requirements are completed within six successive years from the semester of the first graduate-level class.
The overall DNP/MBA program consists of eleven courses (at least 33 credit hours total), 8 traditional MBA courses, and 3 nursing courses. This will allow DNP students to complete the required courses in the MBA program simultaneously with their nursing course work.
Admission Requirements
The DNP/MBA program will be available to students who meet the entrance criteria for acceptance into ETSU graduate programs. A graduate admissions exam requirement will be waived, provided that the student is enrolled in the DNP program. Students can start the program any time after enrolling in the DNP program. The admission criteria/requirements for the DNP/MBA program will be agreed upon by a faculty committee representing both nursing and business areas.
