A minor is a secondary area of study outside of the major program of study with a structured curriculum composed of at least 18 credits of which at least 9 credits must be at the 3000-level or above. The Special Education Interventionist / Comprehensive Minor is not an initial licensure program. Individuals who desire Tennessee’s Special Education Interventionist or Comprehensive must also be enrolled in an initial licensure undergraduate program in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Physical Education, or Secondary Education.
Courses that are required in a major may not be double-counted toward a minor. A grade required for all courses is C or better. Courses with corequisite requirements will be waived by the department.
