(4 credits) Principles of taxonomy, classification, paleoecology, evolution, and geologic records of the major invertebrate phyla are considered. Three credits lecture and two laboratory periods each week. (spring, odd years) Honors students will be required to choose a project which involves collection, preparation, and/or casting of fossil material which can then be used as part of the Geology teaching collection.
