PHSI 6300 - Intracellular Signaling

(3 credits)

Prerequisites: PHSI 5000 or consent of the instructor.

This course covers selected topics of current interest in the problems of signal processing by mammalian cells. Topics will include cAMP, protein kinase C, G proteins, calcium, protoonocogenes, and channel activation with respect to various cell functions. Emphasis will be placed on review of the current literature and methodology. Objectives will be to achieve detailed understanding of integrative function and signal processing at the cellular level.
