General Program Information

Social Work Minor Requirements: 18 Credit Hours

(The Council on Social Work Education does not accredit minor programs of study.)

SOWK 1010 - Introduction to Social Work (3 credits)
SOWK 1020 - Professional Values and Ethics (3 credits)
SOWK 1030 - Cultural Diversity (3 credits)

Other Course Options

Students must choose nine (9) additional credits from the following list of options:

SOWK 3000 - Human Behavior/Social Environment I (3 credits)
SOWK 3010 - Human Behavior/Social Environment II (3 credits)
SOWK 3430 - Social Welfare Policy and Services (3 credits)
SOWK 4367 - Seminar in Alcohol and Drug Abuse (3 credits)
SOWK 4517 - Crisis Intervention (3 credits)
SOWK 4567 - Human Sexuality (3 credits)
SOWK 4957 - Special Topics in Social Work (3 credits)

A grade of C- or below will not be accepted for SOWK courses taken for the minor and no more than six (6) hours will be accepted as transfer SOWK credit.
