The Master of Science in Engineering Technology program is designed to provide students with an advanced level of training and hands-on learning experiences in engineering technology beyond the baccalaureate degree. Focusing on skills like technological innovation, industrial practices, and engineering operation functions, the program prepares students to advance in careers throughout the field in the technology driven industry. The existence of the department within the College of Business and Technology provides our students a unique opportunity to study and learn the business side of engineering projects as well as technical aspects, which provides a holistic view of engineering project management. As such, it creates a strong background for students to be employed as engineering managerial positions.

The Engineering Technology concentration is for students who plan to become, or are now, involved in supervising or coordinating workers, materials, and equipment in a production system or who are resolving technical problems related to existing and emerging technologies. Individuals completing the program should be qualified to deal with process, method, planning, tooling, quality control and reliability, safety and management aspects of production in manufacturing and other technology focused industries.

All graduate students, regardless of their concentration, must complete at least three (3) ENTC graduate courses to receive the Master of Science in Technology degree.

Program Admission Requirements


  1. An undergraduate major or minor in a technically related area.
  2. An undergraduate course in probability and statistics.
  3. An overall GPA of 3.0.

Engineering Technology Concentration


The Engineering Technology Concentration is for students who plan to become, or are now, involved in supervising or coordinating workers, materials, and equipment in a production system, or who are resolving technical problems related to the courses offered. Individuals completing the program should be qualified to deal with tooling, methods, planning, quality control and reliability, and management aspects of production in manufacturing and other industries.

Students in the Engineering Technology Concentration may select either the thesis option, which requires 30 credits, including ENTC 5960 - Thesis , or the non-thesis option, which requires 36 creditss, including ENTC 5800 - Strategic Experience . Upon completion of either option, the student must take a comprehensive examination.

Core Requirements 9 credits
Concentration 9 credits
Thesis/Non-Thesis Option 12-18 credits
TOTAL 30-36 credits

Engineering Technology Core Requirements: 9 credits


Engineering Technology Concentration: 9 credits


Thesis Option: 12 credits


All electives must be approved by the Graduate Coordinator.

Non-Thesis Option: 18 credits


All electives must be approved by the Graduate Coordinator.

International Student Seminar Policy


International Students : Must complete 4 credits of International Student Seminar  to meet graduation requirements.
